Can any of you make out this build sheet?

Time has not bee kind to this one!

Little background, this build was in the rear seat springs of my 68 Road Runner that Mon and Dad bought new and I have owned for 40 years now, so I know what the car came with. I guess it was around 1975 while I was at Ft Bragg NC I had a hack job done on the rear seat back, I never paid for it and left the seat back. I knew a guy that was parting out a 68 Charger, I think it was a R/T but 40 years clouds the mind. I bought the interior and installed it in the Road Runner. Around 1985 I had the seats done to look like the deluxe interior my Road Runner came with.

I think but not positive I switched the build sheet, it looks like it has been moved. I am 99% sure I would have saved it, even tho I had no idea what it was in 1975!

I don't think anyone here will be able to read it any better than I from the picture. But maybe if it was downloaded and photo shop program was used, it might be read. Anyone want to play CSI?  :coolgleamA:

Send me your E Mail by PM and I will send it as the full sizes jpg file as I scanned it.

Hi Ken. I just tried a few tricks with the PhotoScape program and could not resurrect any numbers. One method that sometimes works is to create a negative image of the sheet and then figures can re-appear. Did not work this time. Water and time have erased the data.

But here's an idea - hold it up to a powerful backlight, and perhaps a "ghost" might show up. If there is a professional photographer in your town they can experiment with back lighting to see if something floats into sight.

It is an awesome memento in any case. Hope you find success.

I had to read section of my old one with a flashlight.  Hold the light behind the sheet so it shines through, it helped me make out some of the mess I  had.

  motor is L

Can't be L because there were no 440s in '68 Road Runners. Would be H or J for the engine code..

Possibility is that the sheet doesn't even belong to the car.

Just got a good luck and first digit under car line is a X and then a S body type is 29 for a 2 door and motor code is a L so it must be 68 Charger R/T. Sad for 2 reason, it not my Road Runners and the Charger was in good shape, guy just could not get the title.
