I am going to put in a new gas tank, do I need to replace the straps?

Car has been sitting for two years, with about 5 gal. of gas and it was not looking good to begin with.

Thanks

by all means yes!   very cheap insurance

My 74 straps are still like new after all these years. I never changed mine when I put in a new tank. Now if they are rusted and showing excessive wear I would definatley change them. Like already said, good insurnace.

Compared to the price of the tank, the straps are cheap and if its all out it just makes good sense.

Decided on new straps, mainly because I just painted my new tank and the thought of that new tank dropping out of the car.

Not to mention a nice new painted tank with old yucky straps from a visual perspective.
