We all know how the F'ing scammers get eBag accounts.  They then put up super nice cars with low BIN's and expect some dumbass to PayPal the full amount.

A PROPOSAL:

Whenever one of us finds one before the auction gets pulled, we e-mail the "seller" with dumbshi!t questions, miscellaneous crap or other stuff?

A fine example concerning 419 scams brought to you by the Ebola Monkey Man (enjoy):

I know the eBag thing can't be as sophisticated, BUT we could give some sh!t back to the F'IN thieves that started it...

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
      a liberal, oh fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respectable, oh presentable, a vegetable!

bull

I've often thought of doing that myself but I'd be a little concerned about some goof like that having my email address.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scam_baiting

"Scam baiting is the practice of pretending interest in a fraudulent scheme in order to manipulate a scammer. The purpose of scam baiting might be to waste the scammers' time, embarrass them, cause them to reveal information which can be passed on to legal authorities in the hope that they will be prosecuted, get them to spend money, or simply to amuse the baiter." ...

..."There are very few known cases of a scammer discovering the real identity of a scam baiter, since baiters always use fake e-mail accounts and are careful not to disclose any personal details."

I does sound like fun. Ever heard of Perverted Justice? It could be something like what they do only we'd be catching online thieves instead of online pedophiles. If we get good enough at it maybe the cops would pay us like they do PJ. Hmmm. Now you've got me thinking about it. Wanna start a business, TK?

I've got a second eBay ID:  ufnscammer.

I just bid the car up to 3 or 4 mil. Figure that's enough to screw their scam auction.

A lot of the "baiters" copy the e-mails to the Police or Interpol for investigation.  There has to be a certain $$ amount lost to a scammer before an investigation is started. Most of the "419" scammers are not in Europe or the US so they rarely will get law enforcements trouble.  That is where "baiters" come in to disrupt the scammers business by wasting their time, getting e-mail accounts and fake websites shut down and generally F'in with 'em...  :icon_smile_evil:
