Jiminy, we could go all night long.  Silver, give us some info to start with..... whatta you have currently??? case number?  gear ratio?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you would be better off buying a used one already assembled and ready to stuff.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Roughly $300 for a posi carrier (good used), assuming you can use your same gears, you will probably just need some carrier bearings and some time to set it up.  Around here, I would guess, about $150 labor.
