Was this a real deal 440 4-speed car?
http://www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1969-Dodge-Charger-Daytona/6260

Sold for just over $100k? With a HEMI? Seem almost cheap?

I don't recall it. Sorry if it has been mentioned here before.

Jim, can you shed any light on history of the car and what shape it was in prior to restoration?

Here it is when I got it Doug.

It was the Fred McNally car out of Escanaba MI.

I bought it and the F8/F8 Hemi 500 4-speed (A member on here restored it and was selling it) from Fred.

The Daytona is a 440-4 speed, white, black interior.

The original trans came with it, original engine was long gone (same deal with the Hemi 500).

Fred put it in primer in the 70's and that is how I got it.

I sold the 2 cars and a complete 440 and Hemi to the fellow in Quebec. I guess he decided to put the Hemi I had for the 500 into the Daytona.
He also decided to put a red gut in it as well.
Both cars had their original f-tags, the 'Tona had the broadcast sheet as well. I sold everything for 45k at the time.......should have kept them - eh?

Montreal Wing Car

Final selling price: 112 200$
I have seen this car many times up close, and even though it was not restored to original specs, the workmanship is top-notch, and it cost way more than that to do.
Someone got a screaming deal...
