Hi all , I am new to this site , I am looking for information about a blue Superbird that was used as a show car from new , and was carted around
with Richard Petty's number on the side , this car , so the story goes has a Hemi vin , but was built with a 440 6 pack.
The car was restored and showed winning everything it entered , then put in a museum , and sold from there about twelve years ago .
Do any of you remember this car ?????????
I know it's a long shot

Cheers

I've been active in the wing car world for over 30 years and have never heard of anything remotely close to this.

require ;
transitive verb
1 a: to claim or ask for by right and authority
2 a: to call for as suitable or appropriate
   b: to demand as necessary or essential : have a compelling need for
3: to impose a compulsion or command on

Just curious why you require this information?  If you're just interested, you should've said desired.  Required implies a compelling need.

Is this the same Superbird that has the 3 piece Wing without any bolt holding them together? Just curious.

I have never heard anything about a Show car that Petty toured around with to shows. I'm not as old as Doug, but have been around these wing cars all of my life, and never heard anything remotely close to that story before. Doug would surely have caught wind of it, if it were something that really happened. Seeing as how many contacts in the wing cars he has.

5. TomP, are you high?
No, I was just a little bored and a tired of all the poor spelling and bad grammar that is called the internet.

I'm feeling much better now.  :icon_smile_cool:

the car isn't clean, either.
