245/60/15 are a little shorter.  They're a common size and look great.

HITMAN 149

i dont know what BS the wheels are??? the backs are ok... but my buddy said the fronts are pushed out towards the fenders a lil too much.. that's wht the 245/70's are too big... they are hitting the fender!! ugggg
so he said maybe a 225/60 or 70?!?!?

I just went through the same deal trying to figure out what size. Fronts are 15x8 4.5" BS with a 245/60, rear are 15x10 4.5 BS with a 275/60. Plenty of room and sits perfect, at least for my taste.

I had 295/50- 15 rear, on 10" rims, 4,5 bs. 245/60-15 front, on 8" rims, 3,25 bs........i think! fitted just fine :shruggy:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

Troy

It's going to depend on the back spacing of the wheel. If you push the tire out towards the fender you'll obviously need a skinnier tire. I have/had used wheels with 3 3/4" BS and 236/60-15 tires fit just fine.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

HITMAN 149

yea that's the prob.. these are the wheels that came on the car when i bought it....
ive only driven it @ 25 miles since i've got it almost 4 yrs now... it's been at the shop for over 3!!!
so now i gotta figure out what tires will fit on the front... cause it's almost ready to come home!!!
the 245/70/15 on the fronts now are TOO BIG!!! ugggggg

I have the same size tyres but 8 inch rims on the rear.

If you want to keep your current wheels, 235/60. If you want to keep the current tire, a wheel with more back space.

HITMAN 149

yes it would be MORE cost effective to just get diff tires... unless i came across a great wheel deal!?!?!? but prob not!! lol
i do plan on doing 18x10 & 17x8/9's later on in the future... so this is just in the mean time... but i wanna be able to drive it around!!!! hahaha

A 245/70 has to be what, about 27" almost 28" tall? Pretty friggin tall for a front tire. 245 is also stinking wide with the wrong backspace wheel. With the proper wheel, you can accomplish all sorts of neat stuff, but you've said new wheels are out ofhte question. So, pop off a wheel, measure the backspace and then we'll know what to recommend exactly, or just buy shorter and/or narrower tires. I would think you could find a used tire dealer close by and pick up some tires used for $20-30 each. A 235/60 should work until you swap out to the bigger rim combo. If you have your old 225s, what's wrong with using them? They obviously worked before.

HITMAN 149

hey HPP...
yea i'll have to popl off one of the fronts when im at the shop next time & measure the BS....
the old tires were old & dry rotted.... they only held air for 2-3 days.. at the most.....
yea there are some tire places around... but they are old sizes and kinda hard to come by.... im lookin on ebay & craigslist...
there is also a BIG weekend swapmeet & show at raceway park this weekend.. i can't go (my mom is having surgey on fri =/) but some friends are gonna look for me!!!!!!!
keep your fingers crossed!!! lol

Ok, nevermind. I was thinking of 60 series when you said 70 for some reason. Yea, 60-series sidewall is what you want. My plan is to use 295/50R15 on the back (which I already have) and 245/60R15 on the front. These two sizes are 1/10th of an inch different in diameter.

I agree...I use 245 60 15 on all four corners.....What rims are you using?  A 70 should be just fine...The reason I'm asking is because maybe the backspacing on the rim is making the outside of it too far outward....Have a picture??

HITMAN 149

hey ty...
they are old looking centerline type wheels....
15x8 up front 15x10 out back
