2582961 1966 C body 383 HI-alt 22"
2949055 - 1969 B body 26" 440 cars with manual tranny (This is the standard radiator for Track Pack cars). Also 383 with either tranny and A/C or 440 cars with automatic and A/C.

I think that the majority of the 440 cars with A/C got the 2949054 radiator though, as it was the max cool and it was a 3 core rather than the 2 core tha the 2949055 is.

One would think so but the 055 was the one called for. :shruggy:
Max cool came with axle packages and trailer towing.

Agreed, I've had two  1969 GTX's . 1st 440 4spd 3.54 dana , 2nd 440 auto with A/C , both were 055 radiators

69_500

Yeah but we know how much you like those GTX's over the Chargers Bill.  :2thumbs:

I stand corrected. I had thought that most A/C cars has the 054, hmmmmm guess not. Maybe I just noticed when they did have it though. Yet another non important thing that I'll be staring at on all cars at shows now.

thanks for the info . so for my next question?  is what would this radiator be worth ?  the #055 one.  its in restore-able  condition .no obvious damage  and i don't know if it leaks or not .would it be worth my time and money to take it to a radiator shop and have it checked out ?  thanks Tim

Geno's matrix is correct with one clarification:

                  440       440       426
                 no AC     AC       Hemi
Auto
3.23            053      055        054
3.55           055?     054       054
4.10            054      xxx        054

Manual
3.54           055       XXX        054
4.10           054       XXX        054

A 440 auto with 3.55 gears would get the 054 with or without A/C.
Plus, you couldn't get 4:10 gears and A/C

A few weeks ago I was able to copy a BUNCH of 1969 engineering documents & graphics, which would have been pretty handy to have when we started this whole 055/054 discussion.  :brickwall:  Doug's right on the money with the corrections to the matrix:

[edit]

See graph attached to this reply for a more comprehensive chart of 440/426 applications.

I totally missed the "no A/C with the SuperPerformance Axle" qualifier that's right there in the Data Book.  Correct as usual... :2thumbs:

Ah so those do come in handy?  :scratchchin:

I never knew you couldn't get an A/C car with a Dana.
