After an eleven month wait, I just received the documentation letter for my Road Runner from Galen G.

Hurray! :grouphug:

I know there are some GG haters out there. But I have to give them credit because they were up front about being months behind, and communicated that twice. So I was patient (like I had a choice :icon_smile_dissapprove:) and then there it was in today's mail.

I'm going out now for a midnight run (the snow has melted) and burn up the pavement. :drive:

Glad to hear it!  :2thumbs: Now, are you going to post a scan of it so we can see what all the hoopla is about?  :scratchchin:      :icon_smile_wink:

No hoopla!  :-[   It is anti-climatic to me, so surely it doesn't mean squat to the world at large.  :smilielol:

But it seems that "they" :rotz: are always asking about "it", so now a got a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. :hah:

I'll get a scan together tomorrow and post it. :leaving:

Dan.

(and when else will I ever to get to use nine smileys and one special feature within two posts?? :lolexplode:)

Back N Black

So, who is the next Guru when Mr. Govier kicks the bucket?

Ghoste

I think you are already reading the next guru.  The internet collective has largely replaced indiviual stamps of approval and except for a few secret documents the living guru is still sitting on, there is little you can't learn on your own with only a small amount of research.
I won't go so far as to say individual seals of approval will become irrelevant only that there is little that can't be found on your own.
Now if we had a version of Pontiac Historical or the Marti Report...

69_500

I'll play nice and say glad to hear that you got your paper.

Out of curiosity, what did you learn that you didn't already know?

Have fun with those 8bbls?

are you going to post a scan of it

It's attached. It is a poor pic because of the security paper he prints it on. It gets all distorted when scanned. And a photocopy has the word VOID show up all over the page. It's some sort of anti-counterfeit paper.

what did you learn that you didn't already know

Absolutely nothing. Already fully decoded and lots of history constructed and documented. That's why it is anti-climatic.

Also, no 8 barrels, running a ProMax 850 4 barrel. Very friendly on the street. :icon_smile_cool:

Originally a 383 (like the other 44,000+ in 1968).  Now with a Hemi and all the good stuff.

Love the 383, the most un-appreciated motor of all time. But I have a sickness that only the Hemi could cure. :-\

It's more than $20 for sure.

I saw my friend Jack's packet for his 68 X a few years back... I wasn't impressed.   Spend my $$$ on parts and gas instead.

With a 4 -10 month back log I would say that people are happy to pay it.

Or feel the price is a good investment.

I like how he charges YOU $16 to put your cars information into his database and calls it a "registry".

68X426

Yes, it was $16. Happy? :shruggy: Sort of. It just is what it is.

There is no objective way to know if a Govier letter is a good investment. Until somebody could survey all sale offers and completed sales (nationwide in the Mopar nation) to demonstrate that a registry and letter add value, don't know. No one has. (And I'm not selling so it doesn't matter).

Now, if it's a Superbird, and the objective is to sell to a collector, then a full appraisal is worthwhile, and a registry is worthwhile.  :Twocents:
