Update, I just removed the dash wire harness due to melted connector on firewall and ignition switch. Will be removing gas tank soon. Will post pics later. Thanks

Take it from experience, take that dash out and send the frame and amp gauge to http://www.redlinegaugeworks.com/ . Convert to the voltmeter ( but you can keep the OEM amp gauge look )......... It is 100% safety upgrade....

good deal, replacing that harness is the equivalent of buying life insurance for your car. My 68 cooked the harness the same way yours did so good thing you caught it now.   Al

Well the day has finally come, the car is home now! We had a small family get together with some neighbors and the new addition. I just hope the other cars don't get jealous. Car is really solid and paint looks good. I have all missing parts except filler trim around grille and lower rear window trim. I am so happy I thought I would never own a 500! Its like I hit the powerball. Check out the pics, will post more later.

congratulations  :drool5:    , looking forward to seeing more progress pictures & updates & stuff  :popcrn: :2thumbs:

Removed gas tank, Smells like paint thinner I think. Most likely will replace trunk floor a lot of pitting in ribbs

I'd certainly leave the trunk alone.  It's way too nice to just throw away.  Some metal finishing will make it look a lot better.
