My Hemi Daytona: Parts, Pieces, and Chunks...

Time for a new thread on my project.

Here, I'll post pictures of my car and parts as I begin the assembly.

Follow along as I try to figure out where the hell I stashed all this crap over eighteen years ago when

I disassembled this wreck.

Be amused as I try to figure out which piece of petrified masking tape with some sort of unintelligible

hieroglyphs scrawled on it belongs with which rusty, crusty unidentifiable part...

Thrill with delight when I discover that the brand new parts I just bought had already been

purchased by me a decade ago and had somehow been sucked into a vortex, magically reappearing

in the spare bedroom closet after the latest, more expensive versions arrive.

Learn new curse words.

Watch me break shit.

Watch me have to redo stuff several times because of my numerous brain farts.

Expect long pauses between updates, because I'm pissed and I've thrown the wrenches through the

drywall, stomped on the part, turned off the garage lights, slammed the door and haven't gone back

out there for weeks.

Expect longer pauses because I'm broke at the time, or a machine shop or parts vendor thinks that

months and years is an acceptable amount of time to do their thing.

Ultimately, hopefully not too many years from now...

If I live long enough...

I'll get this bitch together...

Turn the key...

and:

To begin, I've set out, and attempted to organize the parts I need to begin the assembly.

I'm going to start with the backend of the car, beginning with the installation of the trunk lid and

hinges, so that I can then move on to the stripe and the wing.

Already, I can see that I need to order more parts :scratchchin:.

Anybody mind if I just raid the fridge?  I've been here almost a year and I've had enough popcorn.

Ok, now I'm ready for the show to begin. :2thumbs:

Took me 3 years to get mine together, (lots of "spare time"  :icon_smile_big:).  Word of advice on the engine, DO NOT LET STU SELL YOU A USED FUEL PUMP ROD.    (Could not resist Stu).  And popcorn does go stale after 3 years.  Good luck.

Ken,

I'm maybe 20 miles away from you... :scratchchin:

But...

There's a strict "One fat guy at a time" rule in my garage... :Twocents:

I'm that fat guy.

I've got too much junk in there...

No room for helpers.

Unless...

The prospective helper looks like this:

Your first post sounds like what I am going threw with my Daytona project, After 10 years of collecting parts then having to move them because the kids have to move back in and one of them is an excessive compulsive cleaner so parts got moved again to places I would never put them, Then the good part, They move out,,,
Only to move back in this time with Grandkids only to go through it all over again,    10 years later as I am buying new parts for the ones that came up missing my son shows up and knows right where they are, after I already bought new ones.  These things get expensive with kids around.  That why I am moving into a two bedroom house with a 6 car garage as soon as this loan goes through.  No room for anyone but Grandkids.
