Car was taken apart in 2000 lots of work and money went into the restoration, Took it out for the first time in years, A few problems but nothing too bad
brakes suck
rear seal leaks
hard shifting
needs a tune up

Looks great. How many years were you out of the saddle?

Dmichels

Bought the car in 89 drove it till about 97 and parked it then replaced a ton of sheet metal. The last real drive was when I drove it to the new house I bought in 2000. It sat in the garage and I worked on it off and on. I had been buying parts for years. The last push came when I had it painted in late 2012, I just finished putting it back together today.

You done an excellent job.  Did the stickers on the tires disappear slowly, or in a puff of smoke? :drive:

The first drive is the best. After lots of work it moves. I have been there many times. If there were no problems to correct I would be disappointed. After putting in all that effort for there to be no problems would stun me. I would feel what do I do now? And start fixing things that don't need to be fixed.

Fred

I've got to say (for me) it got better and better with each drive. All the bugs are ironed out slowly but surely drive by drive and now she purrs along when cruising and prowls when l plant my foot.
Couldn't ask for anything more.    :drive:     Sheer bliss.  :2thumbs:

Wow! 13-years is far-longer than I have waited.  Do you have any idea what you spent to get it to this point (not counting your time)?

Thanks for all the positive posts
cost up to now? 20,000 plus or minus
I did most of the work myself except paint and machine work on the block.
I did it as I could afford things I just kept moving forward
