just picked up my speed-o-motive 496 today and moved it inside for safe keeping untill the car is ready for it, should be plenty of motor for a street car. also makes for a nice conversation peice in the family room. will probably sleep next to it for the first couple of nights. :icon_smile_big:

both! but actually my wife's pretty good about the whole thing, heck theres a big block sitting in her family room.as for when it will be planted in the charger is completely up to the guys doing the body work.but it wont be any time soon. the motor was broke in and dyno'd, the final numbers were 553 hp at 5500 rpm and 663 lb ft of torque at 4000 rpm. i didn't want a full out race motor just a stout street motor, the parts they used are all top of the line stuff, eagle steel crank, eagle H-beam rods, comp cams cam and roller rockers, miloden four bolt main caps, thermal coated piston tops and skirts, edelbrock heads, edelbrock rpm intake with 850 demon carb and msd pro billet distributer.

I hope you are lucky with your motor.

A buddy here in Germany also ordered a a stroker motor from Speed-O-Motive.
He dropped it in his ´66 Coronet and drove for about 30 miles, when the motor
failed. He put the motor apart to see what happened. He found a crack in the block.
After many phone calls with Speed-O-Motive they said they will fix that.
As you all can imagine it´s a pretty expensive thing to ship an engine from
Germany to the USA. My buddy sent it back. Abouth six months later he got it back.
This time they had the motor on the dyno to be sure everything is fine.
But my buddy didn´t trust them anymore. He took of the intake to see some
of the internals. And what happened? The cam was already gone on some lobes.
This is how he got the motor from Speed-O-Motive.
So he called them again and told them about the cam. Now he got a new cam and
lifters from Speed-O-Motive.
Up to now the motor seems to be okay. He made about 300 miles with it.

Before that story I also considered to by a stoker engine at Speed-O-Motive.
But now.....
