If I put a sun roof on one of my cars I'd just graft in a modern one out of a Jeep or something.

Thanks Dan for the info on your brother's past car. You mentioned that it went to Buffalo - the bright yellow charger that is on the pamphlet was photographed in the Buffalo area. Could be his old car...I don't have much info on it...just ran across it in a B-Bodies only post June 2012.

I have re-arranged the 69 sunroof pamphlet to show the installation order. There are some cars that I was able to put in order using their VINs, but don't have a solid sunroof number for them. There are several cars that I just don't have any info for - so they are marked #Unk for unknown.

Thanks, Scott.

Cool pages.
Looks like a more common option on the more expensive cars.
No one is going to order a 6 & sunroof.
My bet is more survived because of this.
Also looks like a 4 sp & sunroof is a rare combo.

It is possible that the yellow car was my brother's, any other pics of it?  Early car w/headrests - CHECK (power windows? A/C? SE? 8-track?)  :scratchchin:

& I should've bought this, although it was a rusty piece in Bedford, OH in the mid-'90s!
XP29H9B324583 (is it in any registry) can't find tag info, but from memory SE V2 CRX E63 D32 H51 928xxx (sunroof, power windows, hood paint, hood pins) did it survive?

Thanks Dan for the list of sunroof cars and extra pics of your brothers car. I have one more pic of the yellow car - but it probably won't help much. I will send it your way via email.

I know this topic is about Chargers with factory sunroofs, but does anyone have any info/production figures on Plymouths with factory sunroofs?
My son found this ad for a '71 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus with a factory sunroof. Is the car priced too high? I am sure its rare, but how rare?

Here is the 1971 Plymouth list - which contains the car advertised on Craiglist. 1971 Plymouth GTX and Road Runner sunroof production is pretty sorted out - around 35 GTXs and around 85 Road Runners. Satellite production is a little trickier. A publication sent to dealerships called "1972 Plymouth Advanced Information" contains option percentages that came on the previous year's cars. This gave dealers an idea of what options were the most popular on what cars. For the 1971 Satellite line (Satellites/GTXs/RRs combined), the power sunroof was optioned on 0.5% of the car line. With approximately 70,000 cars produced, that works out to approximately 350 sunroof Satellite/GTX/RRs produced. Subtract out the 120 GTX/RRs, and that leaves approximately 230 Satellites that got the power sunroof. One of my sunroof contacts feels the 0.5% number might be slightly inflated, with 1971 sunroof Satellite production even lower than 230 - maybe in the 100 to 120 range. But I have not found any other information to dispute these numbers. Hope this helps! Scott.

Update (July 2017) - Satellite Sebring and Sebring Plus numbers have been found. Everything Sunroof is now at:

The original ad is off Craigslist now - and it said if the ad was there it was still for sale. Did you or your son buy it 66FBCharger?

We did not even get the chance to go look at it. I emailed the seller and he didn't answer some of the questions I had. The answers I did get were very brief with no detail. It kind of turned me off. Maybe he already had someone interested in the car at the time.
I wanted to go look at the car, but I was too busy to go right away. Hopefully someone restores it instead of flipping it on Ebay.

The 1969 sunroof Charger pamphlet has been updated with several Registry cars (sorry no pics yet) and a few more Orphans I have run across on the web. I have also added a link to the 1969 sunroof Charger statistics thread that I started. Enjoy!

This is good stuff.  I have some better pics of my car than the one you posted on the blackhills.com page.  Mine is a 383 2bll R4 Red with black vinyl top with black interior and console.  :2thumbs:

Bump - with Don's help, there has been some significant additions and revisions to the 1970 sunroof Charger pamphlet. I also put some 1970 sunroof Charger statistics together. Additionally, I made some minor edits to the 1969 sunroof data also. Just follow the links at the beginning of this post. Enjoy! Scott.

Thanks Tan Top! It will be a while before I get the 1973-74 sunroof car pamphlets published. I promised a few people I would get busy on the 1970-72 Challengers first. The 73 and up A & B body cars are manual sunroofs - and note that the special VONs on the fender tags are gone - but the option code M52 for manual sunroof now appears on the tag.

1969 sunroof Charger pamphlet and statistics have been updated. A couple of new cars have come to light. A base Charger on eBay and another R/T SE car whose restoration is nearly complete.

They keep coming out of the wood-work. jonnyb's F6 SE car has been added along with another R/T SE car that has turned up in Texas. I only have just a few details on this R/T SE car and I don't have any pics. It is said to be rough and missing its 440 and Dana. The owner's son said it may come up for sale sometime in the future - but don't hold your breathe.

I have updated the statistics page with these two new cars.

I have also added an intro page to the 1969 Charger sunroof car pamphlet. Let me know what you think.
Thanks! Scott.

Thanks polywideblock! Looks like they gave up on having a sunroof? Maybe not worth the time, money, and effort to repair or replace if there was no documentation for it? If you have any info from the ad or a copy of the ad text, could you email it to me? Thanks again! Scott.
