Hi Pat, do you have any more pictures of where the 3 different fasteners go on the stainless trim? In my set I count 4 with a big head, 8 long with small head and 6 short with small head.
Also, I do not see you using the 8 spring clips?

Thanks.

The 4 with the big head go on the left and right curved end pieces.  The 8 long ones pair with the spring clips.  I can't tell you exactly which of the small head ones go where, but maybe you can still see the witness marks on the grill plastic where the spring clips sat?  Also, I think the plastic has wider pads molded in for the spring clips to set on, but I'm not 100% sure that I'm remembering correctly.

As noted above the larger head fasteners go on the outer ends of the C shaped trim and the shorter shaft smaller head fasteners are used on the inside of both C shaped trim. And the longer stud fasteners are use for the upper and lower straight sections of trim that as noted also use the spring clips. No spring clips are used on the outer C shaped trim.
Thanks and good luck!
Pat

Yes, I'm not surprised. I've been known to pay seven figures for cars I love, however.

Thank you! So if I'm understanding correctly you started with 1500 and nothing courser? I'm surprised it ended up that amazingly straight without starting with blocking with 800 or so.  Speaks to your ability to lay out material nicely. It's gorgeous!

Your brake ducts turned out awesome as well. Just to throw in .02, even if perfectly wiped down clean, I've found it's a bit easier to weld aluminum like this if you first take a fine 3m roloc to all areas that will be welded.  (to remove invisible surface oxidation).

At that point, with how nice your fitment is you can start the weld with filler rod and finish the entire seam fusion with no filler.

Won't change the end result but saves time knocking down the weld bead.

If you ever sell this thing set reserve at a million.  :2thumbs:

Thanks for the aluminum welding tip! Maybe on the next car I'll have this tig welding figured out;-)

Mounted the front bumper, and painted & installed the front brake air ducts. The air ducts are inconspicuous painted black.
