damn...I thought MY best of show ads laid it on thick.  has to be a new guy...doesn't know the difference between a torsion bar and a control arm.

so for $300K will they replace that backfire-bloated muffler?

Reading that bullshit description almost made my head spin. It sounded like Elaine from Seinfeld wrote it for the J. Peterman catalog.

"I've heard these words before...I think they go in here somewhere."

TUFCAT

It's amazing he found enough space between all the bullshit filler to squeeze those words in.  :D

69 DAYTONA

...I hate reading those ads, just make it simple !

pettybird

And it's bad from the very start:

"When we say "blue chip collector car" it usually means one of two things: either an all-original time capsule that's fit for a museum, or something that's so rare only serious enthusiasts know it exists."

Because no one has heard of a Ferrari GTO,  a 300SL,  a GT40,  a Carrera RSR,  an L88 Corvette...

I'm not much of a red fan but that r6 really looks great with the white wing.

Certainly not slagging the car--it was a really nice driving car when Steve had it and Dave Salvaggio did a very nice restoration to it.  I was very fortunate to drive both the before and after version.  The white wing makes it, too.

me neither... I'm always amused by these long-winded and ostentatious descriptions.  Why do people think that kind of "fluff" is needed to sell cars?  :eyes:

Mytur Binsdirti

2007 called and they want their "buy-it-now" price back.

If you're CORRECT about the fluff it still sounds OK...

I enjoy reading detailed and descriptive stories about cars, and an equally well written "walk-around" description.  But some of that stuff like calling the seats "thrones", and words like "rocket nose" and "park bench spoiler" was just....well, Fluff!  :icon_smile_blackeye:

hemi68charger

Haven't read it, but for that sort of money, I would think it would be more detailed... Why are the attach bolts that hold the bell housing dust cover not painted along with the cover and bell housing itselves? :scratchchin:

Is "Hoist the car's long hood and you'll find a correct, 440 cubic inch Magnum V8 that's authenticated by a 2536430 casting number and January (1) 20th (20), 1970 (70) casting date. " a long way of saying that its a non-numbers matching motor that's not even date correct?

Wow, 4 speed and no Tach.

Mine's the same way.  Not unheard of, but less commonly equipped that way.

Based on a quick search in my informal database (at least of the Daytonas with full fender tag or Broadcast Sheet information listed), roughly 70-75% of the 4-speed cars had a factory Clock-Tachometer.
