How about those wrinkles on the verticals sections of the upper cowl in the engine bay? I don't think I've seen others look like that.

You've grown accustomed to seeing OCD restored engine compartments over the years, and also living in California, where the automotive trend has always been to lather the vehicle in gallons of bondo and carve the car into shape...

Here is the full page - part of a larger article on the new cars for 1969.

Alright Charger experts. The Radio code is hard to make out in the video - but - as he videos the car - can you tell if that is a standard dash, or a three speaker dash?? Thanks, Scott.

If you look at the video at the 36 second mark you can see the top of the dash
Can see the speaker grill in the center and the two windshield defrost vents on either side but there are not the extra speaker grills present
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

 Possibly 928346 ?

Looks like XP29G9B379755

Puts it right smack in the middle of a bunch of Daytona's built at that time...
Chris' '69 Charger R/T

sdweatherman

Yeah, tough one to make out. I did some video captures and was able to make out all but the radio code. Couldn't tell if it was R11 or R21, but with no 3 speaker dash, that rules out R21. Here is the tag:

   P31   R21     26   END
G11  G33   H51   L31   M21  M31
A01   A47   B41   B51   C16  C55
B3  B3   CRD   B7  513   928346
E61   D32   XP29   G9B   379755

Scott.

Edit: After the discussion below and Dan's picture of the tag - the radio code looks to be R21 - which I have corrected in the tag data above.

1969-'70 b-body "R21" AM/FM was a single speaker mono radio = NO outboard stereo speakers on dash

sdweatherman

Do I have my radios mixed up?? Was it the R22 AM 8 Track that got the 3 speaker dash?? Thanks Dan!

yes, R22 is the AM with 8-track stereo & 3-speaker dash

looks like R21 to me

did you catch the interior in the video?
coded for blue leather, but has blue dash & carpet with white vinyl seats/door panels & white head liner in a SE Charger  :coolgleamA: AWESOME!!

without the video - I would've guessed that NEVER HAPPENED  :eek2:

Yes, I need to copy down what he says in the video - great history on this car. White leather interior was not available with the SE package - but the customer got her white interior anyway!

Anybody have a complete or fairly complete 69-70 sunroof setup? Restoring a sunroof car that has some roof rust issues, any leads would also be greatly appreciated it. Willing to pay good money. Or even the sunroof Lid.
