I have one of the 383-2bbl ones at my place, replacing the sunroof with another one from a donor sunroof charger that got removed with quarters, trunk exc,exc... it's an S.E. power window, fm radio, rear defrost, a/c car too

Wouldn't it be easier to just "lift up" the donor sunroof example..... and slide what's left of the other one underneath ?

Then a coupla VIN pop rivets and Fender Tag screws and DONE !
Only wimps wear Bowties !

cbrestorations

It's just the sunroof section of the donor, there's nothing wrong with the structure of the car, just need typical charger sheet metal.

There is a picture of the inside of the roof
Looks like it would take up a lot of head room :(

The sunroof cartridge takes up about two inches of headroom. If you are real tall, you can stick your head through the sunroof like the guy did in that Bert Reynolds movie! I think it was that Gator movie IIRC!

Do they still use the same head liner bows or shorten them up some but still work the same way ??

When I sit in my car my hat just ticks on head liner so I take it off in the car
Just thought if the inside of the roof is much lower on sun roof car it might get a little annoying ( yes I know can take the blocks out from under the seats)

Sunroof cars use different headliner bows. The rear one may be the same, but the others are different. I think there is 5 on sunroof cars, and 6 on non sunroof cars IIRC.

On the 69 Charger factory equipped with a sunroof should the code M51 be on the data plate or is it only found on the Broadcast sheet? If not how do you know if it is a real sunroof car? Also for the 69 SE Charger shouldn't the code A47 be on the data plate?  Thanks guys!

Ghoste

I believe M51 is just on sheet, A47 should be on tag.

Factory 1969 sunroof Chargers will have 928 for the first 3 digits of the 6 digit Vehicle Order Number on the fender tag.
