Hi This is some pics of the steel nose and wing on my sunroof superbird I am cloneing. I made them myself. Its not real hard just lots of time and measuring a real one. I had a friends car thats apart to go by [that helps alot] My wing is wraped steel hollow inside and I sprayed foam inside to keep it light and from colapsing. Sorry this is the best pics I could find. I will also post some pics of my Original 440-6 bird that was burnt also next.

Sure keeps the costs down when you build them from scratch like that. What are the plans, color, engine, tranny, etc.? Keep us posted as you complete it.

This is the car I am working on now that I put the sunroof in out of a charger. I listed the other week primered and Lime green. It will be lime Green White interior. 440 ? carbs? 4sp dana AC sunroof power windows and more when done. I filled the nose iand fenders in because I think they look better this way and its a clone anyway so fix them the way you want. I am also not putting a vinal top on have already added the back window and have it filled also.

Marty,
It looks a lot different than the pics that I already have. I thought that they were two different cars. What back glass did you use? I keep going back and forth on the back window thing. I don't want to use a lexan back glass but have been warned that the fiberglass plug won't hold up to a heavy real back glass and of course no one makes the correct moldings. I don't think that I have the expertise to make my own plug and the steel repros are very expensive. At least with the roadrunner and superbird, the back glass isn't substantially different like the chargers and daytonas.
Have you gotten any further since the pics you sent me?

I used a fiberglass repo rear plug and have a lexan window as of now. I am trying many peices of chrome trying to make something work. I have a salvage yard so have I many peices to try. I got my plug from canada showcars parts. its wasnt great but worked out alright after all the work. I have not got any father along yet.

hey sunroofsuperbird
it's great to see your car coming along . I'm lucking forward to seeing its progress. i personally would put a vinyl top on it. i think they look better that way.  just my two cents. Rene

I was against using a vinyl top until I saw that pic of the orange car that was displayed at the SEMA show. I think I'm going vinyl now. Last week I said never...now I say probably.

I just closed a deal today for sponsorship on my super comp firebird so I may be working on my bird a little less this summer than originally planned.
