the dome lights and trunk lights allways have power, the circut is completed by the door switch connecting ground.  so if the housing, bulb socket, door switches or wires are shorting or connected to ground then the circut is completed and the lights come on.  i'd check the bulb housing see if it's touching ground, and check all the lights, in the console too if you have one, including the glove box light.  then check the door switches, maybe a frayed wire is touching the chasis, could be anything, you just gotta wiggle all the wires, check all the ground points.  hope that helps. ;D

The headlight switch can also turn on the dome light.

I would check headlight switch first turning it to be sure if is on ON position...at the end of dimming function there is a "click" position to turn on dome light. Also turns on map light, seatbelt ligh and ignition key courtesy light if is equipped

After that, be sure you have the right bulb... is 1004 one double contact one filament. Once I installed a regular bulb with one contact one filament and lights stayed ON allways.
