440

Looks like a nice Daytona. The frond ride height is too high in my opinion though.

hemi68charger

Maybe he found a better one? Need to ask my buddy from North Carolina... Wait, there's someone here on the forum that works at Hendricks....  I remember when that was bought around the time Everham bought John's 4speed F6..

It has a lot of wrong and missing items. 1970 right exhaust manifold, no clock knob, headlight vacuum hose routing, fuel line, oil fill cap, no spare tire. But lets not be to picky. Nice overall. :yesnod: (Wingman)   Jay.

Very nice!  (had to get in before the green haters jump on it  ;D )

Interesting how it has the complete VIN on the engine. My '69 (Lynch Rd car) only has 9A230241 on it and my A833 4 speed has the complete VIN stamped on it WM21H9A230241, and I know where the car has been it's entire life (our family). Did they get stamped different, on different lines and / or facilities?

It's possible. My c500 has the full vin on the block. I'll take a look at my Daytona block but I'm pretty sure it has the full vin as well.

from 1969   ,  E series motors  had the last 8 digits of the vin stamped only   ,    a 69 C500  or a 68 built E series  motor ! would have a full vin on the block , besause of a 68 SPD

looks there is stuff going on with all vin stampings  motor & trans  & body  :scope:  :scratchchin:

UFO

Wrong broadcast sheet for this car. Or wrong picture added to ad.
Listing has it as a 4 spd automatic. Must be a prototype trans LOL

Moparpoolman

:o Body numbers match each other but not the VIN???  Also, They are claiming it to be matching numbers motor!?!?

The seller posted"the owner  just found the full detail work up  from Galen.  after looking at the papers  he says  Trans is Org to the car.
Motor has been restamped,  other wise all the other parts on the car are org to the car. he has about 25 or 30 pages of
pictures and comments......."

That engine stamp is different because it wasn't done by Chrysler !

birdsandbees

So the correct thing to do would be to get a grinder out and remove the stamping... maybe a 10" mill cutter..

Why would the trunk and rad stampings be the same (366548) but the vin say 386?  Was it just that the guy doing the stampings was lazy that day?

yes wondered that too  , also the trans is stamped 0B386548   ,  0  as in 1970 F series  , should be 9B386548  , un less the trans has come from a 70 ! with the same sequential ?    :shruggy:

may be there is a innocent explanation  assembly line vin stamp guy , smoking too much pot  , or ... :popcrn:

Hendrick might want to fire the "pit crew" on this one!

Hey Owner of XX29L9B400604
Found your build sheet !!  Hope you don't have to buy this car to get it.

69hemidaytona

Motor is definitely a restamp.

birdsandbees

Exactly and what I can't believe is Hendrick is that hard up for funds to "allude" the truth and make money. Engine isn't original and the "stamp monkey" was day dreaming when he restamped the trans as well ! The body stamps were probably a $1.10 / hr union worker that didn't care, but the drive train stamps are intentional!
