Would probably be correct, as 170682 isn't on the 'Bird build list and 176682 is.

I wonder if a pencil eraser might remove some of the rub marks from the seat spring? Of course, I'd test it on somewhere other than over the number.

Oh, and $1750?? That's just crazy talk!

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Before the internet I had found my build sheet to my old FK5 70 Superbee WM23V0A and I didn't have a way to find the new owner after Herb sold it to them ( has since had a nut and bolt resto ) so like a dumb ass I mailed it to Galen thinking it would probably get to the rightful owner through him, it never crossed my mind to hold it ransom though. :eek2:

A383Wing

Galen is either holding it for ransom or charged the owner a pretty price to get it to him

The only thing Galen ever got from me was a 66 parts book back in the 70's when he was getting started, still waiting for him to pay for it !! :brickwall:

Sounds about right, I'm still waiting 11+ years later for him to make me a fender tag, from my two buildsheets, and I wasn't going to pay X$'s/hr to call and ask why he hadnt' done so after they stopped answering emails.

yup, ten years ago ordered a paid in full window sticker for the 70 Sbird and never got it. The re-stamped 66 hemi tag I got from him had the wrong radio code he never fixed that either. :flame:

Out of principal I would never pay for my broadcast sheet, with that said I wish someone would ransom my broadcast sheet for my A12 Bee. I would pay that and not look back.

Aero426

Someone I know bought a 6 pack, 4-speed, Dana  Road Runner a long time ago.   As he got into the car, it became clear that it likely started out as an automatic.    He tracked down a previous owner who more or less confirmed he was on the right track.  He also had the original fender tag.   It wasn't offered for free, but maybe something like $150.   Remember this was 15 or so years ago.    There was some initial resistance to the price, which was met with, "I am holding the tag over the garbage can, and we never had this conversation".        The new owner made a wise choice and got the tag.
