I have an '01 PT Loser. It is a 2.4l DOHC. I have low compression in one cylinder. My mechanic said he found a cracked hose that caused a vacuum leak. He believes that the vacuum leak leaned out cylinder # 4 (the cylinder with low compression) and caused a burnt valve.
I have to pull the head to replace the head gasket. Can I just replace the burnt valve with a new valve and lap it in or is it more involved to fix?
