I'll get the Dyno Sheet up asap.
in the meanwhile,
Typical Mopar 528 Crate HEMI Engine.... Customer bought it and installed it years ago.... and has been fighting with it ever since.
Burning Oil, tough to tune, runs like crap and just not very powerful.
Finally pulled it out in frustration, sent it to us for reworking.

New Diamond Pistons(11:1)
Rings
Brgs
Rebuild and Bowl Port the Heads
Balanced properly
Changed to a CRANE CAMS "Custom" Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam & Lifters !
Stock 2 X 4 Intake Manifold
Stock (restrictive) Exhaust Manifolds and 2 1/4" Pipes
Stock (restrictive) Factory Air Cleaner
Stock Dizzy, Ignition and Wires

641 Ft/Lbs and 621 hp @ 5500 rpm !

This thing looks absolutely BONE stock visually with the Exhaust Manifolds and Air Cleaner.
Typically we see a big dump in power on the Dyno when removing the Dyno EGT Headers and installing Exh Manifolds, same goes for installing the Air Cleaner... down... down.... but Thanks to the Boys @ CRANE CAMS... losses were marginal and very acceptable this time ! and still pulling 12"hg @ 950 rpm for the power brakes !
Only wimps wear Bowties !

I never cease to be amazed by the work you do.  Thanks for posting.
Who in their right mind would say

"The science should not stand in the way of this."?

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Are all hemi 528 crates 11 to 1? Seems they are 9 to 1 then 528s and 572 are 10 to 1? Im casually loooking at them.....some sellers modify the crates call it their own and still call it a crate from mopar.

Those are really nice numbers for a "manifold" build. Great work Bob. I'm sure the customer will be quite happy  :2thumbs:

Nice!
Were the older crate Hemi's turds from what I've read?   Then Mopar changed to Barton to assemble them?  The later ones better?
