On my 70 Ive been trying to sort out the mess of spaghetti behind the dash.

I've found on my fuse box the fuse all the way to the right by itself (INST)  has no input voltage. anyone know where that input would come from- it goes into a harness and I cant trace it out

thanks

You might need a diagram www.mymopar.com .but power comes thru firewall into ammetter and feeds fusebox

thanks- that is a much better diagram than what I was looking at.

It's weird because that fuse shows a tan wire input coming from the dimmer switch and orange going out to multiple things clock, cig lighter etc....

Not sure where the initial power comes from.    :shruggy:

Orange feed maybe coming from turn signal switch connection

You really need a Factory service manual!  :eek2:

I know but when looking at the wiring diagram for that "lone" fuse. I just don't get it.

The orange would seem to be the output, and the tan the input...but from the dimmer switch? Makes no sense....

I dunno everything seems to work except my dome light and and dimmer switch, so not that big of deal...

b5blue

Yes but if the dome can be on by turning the dimmer wheel all the way up and by opening a door there is a relation. The power in wire to the Alt. gauge has a main splice just before the gauge, it's hidden inside the harness.

I see. seems to me then it must be the dimmer switch itself that is bad.

Thx again all!

It's just a small contact switch at the end of it's travel.
