I replaced all harnesses and at the same time installed a new headlight door relay. Now my doors move very quickly up and down but open with such force they jam in the up position? The limits are adjusted nicely, everything positioned good up or down. I overhauled the grill, the bushings and stops are good. Almost like it's too good. (My motor is only about 6 years old, bought NOS and still in great shape, it worked fine (just slower.) with the old repaired harness and a relay I cobbled together.  :shruggy:

Mount a couple of ballast resistors on the radiator support and wire them in series with the up/down wires. That should slow them down enough. I realize it's a hack fix but it's cheap, easy, and it works and will save your headlight doors.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
