Dodge Dakota starter for '69 Charger?

I heard it works and it's lighter and smaller. Does it have a similar cranking power???

Yep, it is a common swap. The one to use is an early '90s 318 starter. The mini starters spin the motors over way faster than the old gear reduction starters. The only issue is hooking up the battery cable to them, sometimes the small stud needs shortened a bit because of block interference and you may or may not need a longer battery cable depending on what you currently have. Other than that they work great  :cheers:

Edit: The above is assuming you have a big block engine.

I recently put one in for a '96 on my 318 '70.  No modifications at all, and works great!
