I know the trunk latch, and door post strikers are "clear" (natural / the silver look) cadmium, but I have seen the door latch itself on a new restoration in "gold" zinc. Were they originally gold zinc plate, or were they not natural cadmium as well? THANKS!

All the latches I have seen, that haven't incorrectly been painted body color are the gold zinc. Usually on originals you can at least find some remnants of the gold somewhere on them. If all the gold has come off then they look silver, but I'm pretty sure gold zinc is correct.

THANKS Guys!  :2thumbs:

Is it the dull cadmium on the trunk and striker or actually zinc (which would be shiny)?

Gold zinc on the door latch.. check!
