Hi everyone, been awhile since I posted here last. Hope to get some info. Tring to paint the center section correctly on my 1972 Charger Rallye bulge hood. After getting some great info from Cuda Cody, I was informed that the paint might not have been textured black, but was a decal. Since the only thing avalible is a stencile kit, I now have to paint it, but unsure if it was a textured black, gloss black or even semi-gloss. Anybody know what was correct for that application.

Only year the bulge got decal was in 71 because the black out was just over the top. 72/74 were painted to fill correctly the curved shape of the full buldge a decal wouldn't take.

I think was semigloss.

1971 charger hood black out decal looks awesome on any 71-74 Bulge hood. My  :Twocents:  That's what is on my 2 rallyes.

Thanks for the help everyone. Looks like organosal is correct for that Year. Semi and gloss black look good, but the Matt black is better for my car as I'm trying for stock. I'm using a 1971 R/T hood and I live in area where direct sunshine reflecting off the front hood is a problem (been blinded by reflective light on 3 diffrent cars, so this would be better and at least a little more correct looking).
