Nuts on the firewall, that retain the heat / defrost unit under the dash.

Are they originally the goldish zinc color that the repops are... or were they black phosphate???

THANKS!

Thanks... looking for '69. I suspect black phosphate and not current yellow zinc! I have the repop yellow zinc.. but can also redo my original nuts black.

Pretty sure the gold color is correct. Same finish as the seat track nuts if I recall correctly.

Okay... now we're 50/50. Yellow zinc would be great, but black I can do too.

Anymore input??? Hoping to get to this tomorrow or Wednesday.

Reminds me I need nuts for my bench seat..

All of the 68-70 B bodies that I have seen had the gold cad nuts. The engine bay in my '68 Charger was repainted years ago and they painted over the nuts, but when I took them off to restore the car they were gold underneath where they were up against the firewall...
1968 Charger R/T, matching numbers 440/727, black with green top and interior, currently getting restored by me

Thanks! If that's the case just makes life that much easier! Sounds like yellow/gold zinc it is.  :2thumbs:

Just weird anything else on the car was a normal black phosphate bolt / nut.

My 69 had the yellow cad nuts as well.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

I just wiped mine off, looks like gold cad.  My car is from Hamtramck though, not Lynch road.
Mopar forever!
