Hello dear Members....
Iīm still working on the engine and suspension of my charger that I purchased last summer. In fact everything seems to work out but....
I was only working on the engine for the last months, so (call me stupid...) I only had this weekend the time to have a closer look to the details of the body wich is stored in another garage.
I canīt imagine how or wich windows should fit in the rear passenger area. I would like to post a few pictures. Maybe some guys here can help me to find out what exactly I need to continue. Or even has the parts I need.
This i how the car looks right now. But what kind of windows do fit in the rear area? Is it possible to make them movable? The problem is, I donīt exactly know how the car came out of factory, so Iīll post a picture of the VN-Plate, maybe it helps....

Thanks you all - I hope the question is not too stupid....
Axl

Guten abend Axl!

I don't know much about 3rd gens but I'm pretty sure you have an SE and I think they came with opera windows. There should be a filler panel though and the stationary window on those is smaller than the regular glass. Looks to be a lot of work to install roll up windows in one of those, but with enough time and money I'm sure it can be done if you choose to go that route.

Some light reading:

Yes, WP29 is most likely a Charger SE with louver windows.  But first of all it is a 74, not a 73.  Interesting though it says the scheduled build date was 8/31 on the fender tag but the vin tag on the door says it was built 10/73 which would make it a very early 74. Also means it either sat or wasn't started until the 74 car run began.
318 car with JY9 as body color, dark gold poly if memory serves. Upper say V1W which means white vinyl top.
With a little more time I could decode the rest, but in short, looks like someone removed the louver windows OR that is not the correct fender and vin tag for the car. I doubt the later since most matches but some things are quite odd with the two of them.
But definitely a 74 as WP29G4G vin # would indicate.
Also you can read up on options here: http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/dealerships/1974DealershipDataBook-03.shtml

Hello.
Yes I think that the car came with louver windows (if thats the same like opera windows?), because the plastic gills were still in the trunk and it seems to me, that some owner before me removed the vinyl roof.... but I canīt understand what happened afterwards. I don'tīt want to put the opera windows back, so Iīm looking for a solution to put movable or stationary windows.

I took some more pictures today. Maybe it helps to find out what happened to that car and what could be a solution....

Thanks
Axl

These cars also came with roll up windows like you want. It's just a matter of finding the parts from another car with a VIN that starts with "WH". The best source is going to be a parts car where someone can sell you the entire mechanism. There are lots of bits and pieces - if you try and gather them up one by one, it will be much more challenging. Good luck.

On your car, the window was stationary originally. If you still have the parts, you can leave the plastic louvers off and install different trim from another car.

the car is definitelly a 74, due the housing for the shoulder seatbelt setup earliers didn't get

as mentioned, the best is get a donor to get all the parts... because is a lot of parts what are really hard to hunt separatelly INCLUDING interior parts.

Maybe I get SOME of the donor parts from Venezuela ? yes, but definitelly interior parts will be hard to find because the tropic dryes everything from the interior down here.

another detail... Upper front doors... being your car is an SE, MOSTLY SURE you got Borugham interior. NOT EVERY SE got the brougham interior, but mostly of them. These REAR upper panels are REALLY hard to come by on Brougham setup for roll down glass. Brougham upper panels are diff design with the regular panels, because brougham panels got a thing woodgrain insert, while Regular got it wider. So IF your car got Brougham interior, you can try to catch someday the brougham kind REAR panels for hardtops OOOOR replace front and rear upper panels from a HARDTOP in standard setup.... ASIDE the right color

SAIL panel for hardtops coupes are also hard to catch in good conditions

OH and need to make some extra body job... enlarge the drip rail and make the U jam cut to be able to roll down the quarter glass, above the striker area

this is a brougham panels setup

this is a "regular" interior setup ( I meant regular because WL21 cars usuallygot this same but without woodgrain vinyl, just color matched )

and here is one of the rare SEs without Brougham

note the rear upper panel changes matching the front one.

My car which is a HARDTOP got at this moment a Brougham interior panels from a Canadian donor. that was just CASUALITY. because these are hard to find

then another item to think on... if you are getting rear roll down setup will need to decide if manual or powered glasses. MOSTLY of hardtops got manual glasses, and the crank is located on upper panel. so MOSTLY of upper panels got a hole on upper panel. If your SE, which MOSTLY got powered front windows, will get a new dilema:

keep rear manual glasses no matter if your car got front powered

get rear powered regulators AND find an upper hardtop model without the crank hole AND thinking will need brougham or regular panel, aside match the color...

LOL

lot of dilemas to match everything.

aaaaand that's why the most of parts from one same car, the better ( including front upper panels if needed )

is fun than in the pics selection I posted, I found kinda rare setups... an SE without brougham interior and manual glasses and a Hardtop with regular interior and powered glasses LOL. I'm not saying they don't exist, just uncommon

Interesting note Nacho, the second picture you posted of the Non Brougham panels, that car is a 71, possibly a 72. Steering Wheel center, brake pedal and heater/AC all represent a 71.

Not that it really matters for this discussion, but….

The middle photo has 1972 seat pattern upholstery not 71. Also appears to have 72 V21 hood paint, so likely a 72.

The top photo is most likely 74 due to the seat upholstery and 74 only steering wheel (surprising that you can't see the shoulder belts though). The bottom is most likely 74 due to the clear shot of the integrated shoulder belts.

Thank you all for the suggestions.
I just had a look in my garage, to see what panels I have. In fact I have two... Due to the fact, that at the moment the carboy and the rest of the parts art not at the same place it is hard for me to check what exactly fits and what doesn't....

The beige ones (wich have the Brougham Sign) came with the car when I bought it. The seller told me they belong to the car. But they where not mounted. On the inside of some of the panels is printed "made in canada".
The black ones (wich have the SE-Logo) I was told come from a 1971 Charger.

If I have to merge both panel sets into one, or even modify them completely - that would be sad of course, but I think possible. In fact it is only fake leather and cardboard.
In case I choose to make the rear windows movable, what powered regulators could fit? It doesn't have to be from a Charger, no one will see it when its built in. And to get custom size windows isnīt also such a problem, since they don'tīhave  to be curved.

71 and 72 upper panels for both doors and back seat area will not fit 73 and 74. I suggest test fitting everything you have to see what's what.

It may not look like it, but the glass is not flat. It has about 1/2"+ curve.

I know some of the pics are not 74 BUT work to show the brougham against eegular panels diff. I never took care about lower panels and seatbelts since that doesn't affect on the window and panels differences
