Cut the dash?
This is the listed radio for the 71,it looks the same size and shape as the one ive removed and my dash isn't cut....

The radio face has rounded corners, that radio you showed is square. Unless it doesn't actually sit flush in the hole

Bere is how it sems to fit on cluster bezel... its standard cluster but opening is the same



Seem to fit just right behing the opening and not INTO the opening

I bought a Retrosound and it was the same deal. Just a little too tall to fit through the hole in the cluster. It's expensive, but I was considering paying up for one from these guys that does fit the dash opening. http://www.radiosforoldcars.com/
