Tan Top thanks for posting.
Nice car.

Challenger340

Beautiful Car, no doubt about that.

Nonetheless, I am left wondering about a few things ?
Why new Exhaust/Tail Pipes on such low mileage ?  Ours has 134,000 miles original with new mufflers, but still original pipes throughout.
and IMO,
that Engine has been out/redone/painted.(I will leave the "why" for others to spot/share)

Nice looking car.
But when I see a seller say "true survivor" in their description it makes me look closer. Shouldn't a '69 survivor have a 489 third member rather than a 742. And the silver paint on the third member wouldn't be factory. Just an observation.

That is a members car

I saw the car before he bought it at a local flea market a couple years ago
Was big bucks and out of my price range

Car is just over 30 minutes away from me if any one is really interested and wants some one else to have a look at it  :2thumbs:

If I recall the member got into a little kerfuful on here about an after market distributor for it

PS he is a used car salesman by trade of modern cars

Agree, I think the car is beautiful. Wish it had a red or blue interior though.  :2thumbs: :P

Yes, 489 no paint is stock for 69. Considering the tag say 318 (Mar SPD) I don't think it would still be a leftover that late in production.

It didn't sell.  Made it to $50,600.00 but did not make it to reserve.  Too many oddities on that car......

Too many oddities on that car......

It would be a rarity to have a nearly 50 year old performance car that didn't have something screwed with it in all that time. Fortunately, those things can be easily changed.

So for us non experts of what is original what all has been changed up under the hood ?

Looks like new rad and heater hoses with gear clamps
Different spark plug wires
Gas pedal return spring ( different between the 2 motor pictures in the ad)

Looks like the original H-pipe is there. Hoses and master cylinder, fuel line....a little funky....but minor stuff.
I agree - there is no perfect survivor without issues. This car looks easier to "straighten out" than most.

Sure looks like a really nice car in lots of ways.  Areas look really nice, some too nice.  I recall other earlier threads when the gentleman bought the car and was thought to be factory original paint.  I have a vinyl top delete car (has lead in sail panel) and that passenger side photo shows movement there not holding up well.  Lead hold up very well imo.  I would love to see that car in person (really)... but between some number of replaced stuff looking sorta restored in some parts, not cracked stripe at all... and sail panel, carpet, other details, I am left skeptical it is really factory paint on the exterior.  Much of the trunk and engine bay paint in photos looks pretty original. Great color.

Nice car no doubt, not in survivor category car imo if repainted, but that is just my option.  Car that survive hard life of muscle car somehow and nearly 50 yes it is...
