I have a 340 spd bell housing,  I am not that good with numbers so I'd like to know what year this is and WIW.  The numbers I see on the left side back are 2892  482    and then on the right side back is 68 and then a bunch of connected squares with no numbers.  Does the 68 mean it's a 68 housing??  help is appreciated.  Tom

I looked in my '68 to '71 parts catalogs. Part# 2892480 shows up for '69 to '71. Quite often the casting number is a few digits off from the part number, so I suspect casting# 2892482 is part# 2892480. For '68, the part# is 2843888, which is quite a bit different than your casting#.

I also found the info below on Brewer's site, which agrees with the parts book info.   http://www.brewersperformance.com/products.asp?cat=27
