I was looking to see if anyone had any pictures of the ash tray light installed on a 69 charger. I couldn't seem to find one in the search box?

Hello Clayton. I just parted out a 1968 B Body dash and I took pics of the tear down. I believe when it comes to the wiring for the ashtray the 68s & 69s are the same. See if these pics help out. Please ask if you have any questions.

Awesome! Thanks Bryan

I bought a light off ebay but it looks a little different from the light on your pics. That's probably why mine didn't fit

Yea it's basically a small pig tail where the light bulb socket slides into the ashtray tube and snaps into a locking position. Then the male bullet connector goes to the accessory block.

If you still need the correct pig tail wire I have one.

Thanks for the offer but my new harness has all the connectors needed.

My ash tray is a bit different and doesn't have a hole on the side? Mines on the back and when I put the light in hits the ash tray when it closes. I'm thinking the proper way to fix it is to make a little bracket to make the bulb sit further back so it doesn't hit. Or drill a new hole on the side? Or just forget about it since I won't ever use it

Were ash trays different depending on the year or options offered?

Here's pics of mine.  Looks like yours doesn't have the notch in the ashtray sheet metal that clears the light.

Thanks for the pictures. It has a bit of a notch but I think the usb cable is hiding most of it. I had it all wrong and was trying to mount it a little different. But those pictures cleared it up. When I get home I'll see if it fits like yours.   :2thumbs:
