Front Valance

My '73 Rallye is missing the front valance.  Several places sell a repro in the $250-300 range.  From the pictures they all look to be the same part.

I also found one on ebay for $150

I don't mind doing doing the body work and repairs on the used one, if needed.  Is this a good deal or should I just go with the repro?  I've been reading through posts and there's not a lot of feeback on the quality and fitment of the aftermarket front valance.

Thanks

Curt

Where are you located? I have a '73 front valance here in Maryland that I don't need, but it's too bulky for me to pack and ship.

Arizona.  Yeah, shipping is a pain on something like this.

Quite often Ebay uses to be a cheaper source than website dealers ( unless they get a discount code and you can wait  for a good one ). Check for columbia parts and tamraz sellers on ebay

Thanks Nacho.  I'll check them out.  I'm not opposed to spending the money for a new one... as long as it fits properly.  I read too many horror stories about repro parts not fitting.  At least with the used (presumably OEM) one you know it fit at one point in its life.

AMD is the only manufacturer of the valence repros available and even they seem to have some details on quarters ( but still good fitting quality ) their parts use to be in good fitment standards. Seller mentioned are AMD resellers, same as Classic Industries.

Of course, if there is a chance for a GOOD used one, there is no way I'll get a repro LOL. Preffer original and used even needing small ( dents, not rust ) fixes here and there, than a repro.

Thanks.  I gave the guy a call.  It's a 6 hour trip for me but if he also has a usable grill we might do business.

:2thumbs: He's about 1.5 hours from Vegas.  You could make it a nice weekend out. ;)

I currently don't have any front valances but I remember seeing one for sale recently. I'll see if I can find that listing. It wasn't in here but maybe Craigslist, Moparts or FBBO.

Keep in mind the 71/72 differs from the 73/74. Used is way better then repop as long as the used is not thrashed.

If you know of anyone coming to Carlisle, I'm about 70 miles from the fairgrounds and just off I-70. It wouldn't be too horribly out of the way.

US$100 for the front valence

Not perfect, some dents right below passenger side parking light, but still nice

Thanks Nacho.  But I already pulled the trigger on one I found on ebay.
