Hey guys!

Want to upgrade my fuel line system and I worry about ordering wrong or to few parts to complete the installation in one step...

What do I want:
Upgrade my 5/16" fuel line to 3/8" - Replace all rubber hoses and old aluminium lines with new ones.

<Tank> <-> <Mechanical Fuel Pump> <-> <Fuel Filter> <-> <Street Avenger Carb>

So I contacted the Summit Racing team for selecting all needed and correct parts....

Thats what they recommended:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Summit Racing Part Number:AED-60945BK
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aed-60945bk/overview/
(Has a spot for a gauge)

(2) Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-220687B
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220687b/overview/

(2) Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-220652B
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220652b/overview/

Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-900500
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-900500/overview/

Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-G2538
  https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g2538

Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-G1881
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g1881/overview/

(3) Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-220634-2
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220634-2

(3) Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-220633-2
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-220633-2/overview/

Summit Racing Part Number:SUM-230102
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-230102/overview/

---------------------------------------------------------------------

But something tells me that these parts are not all correct and/or there is something missing to be able to do the upgrade....

My plan (please correct me or suggest better solutions) would be as follows:

1. Mount a short piece of stainless steel flex hose to 3/8" fuel sending unit outlet of tank
2. Connect the short steel flex with an aluminium 3/8" line
3. Continue with aluminium line from the back of the car to the front to the edelbrock 1723 mechanical fuel pump
4. Connect fuel pump and dual fuel feed line of street avenger carb via steel flex hose OR aluminium line (do not know whats more comfortable there) AND install an inline fuel filter right before the dual fuel feed line of carb

So can someone please check this list if all needed parts are there or suggest other parts if necessary....

As I said before I am afraid of forgetting about some parts while ordering or asking for WRONG parts and then I would not be able to complete the upgrade in one process and as I live in Austria sending back parts is a NoNo and waiting again so many days/weeks if more parts needed is also a NoGo....

I really appreciate any suggests/thoughts/recommendations

Why summit? Was thinking they have all parts I need and ordering from one seller is easier than from several others at the same time and saves shipping costs....

Keep your 5/16" line and make it your return.  So you just add the 3/8" line, change to the correct fuel sending unit and run a fuel filter with 1 inlet and duel outlet (1 connecting to your return line and the other to your carb).  Call Dave at www.rosevillemoparts.com, he has the right parts at a discount.

Thanks for your recommendation!

Nevertheless I took some time to write down in my OWN OPINION which parts are needed.

Please someone might take 5 minutes to check my list if correct or missing something:

I really tried my best to find out correct/fitting parts as IT guy.....  ::) ::) ::) ::)

Any comments to my list?

Would proceed with ordering parts....

What do you think guys? Is this the way to go or not? Or should I consider something else?

Any comments/suggestions are appreciated

Have a nice day

Roland,

The list and fuel line layout looks fine.  :yesnod:

That fuel system will support up to 600hp so you'll be good to go when you upgrade in the future.  :2thumbs:

The only thing I would add is some insulating conduit for the fuel line between the pump and the carburetor. When I ran a mechanical pump on my old 440 I used the DEI conduit heat protection and it kept the fuel from boiling.

I would also add a heat shield between the carb and intake manifold as additional protection against fuel boiling :

Hey Ron!

Thanks for the suggestion to concern about adding an insulating conduit and heat shield...

As its not that expensive everything will be added to my shopping cart :-)

Thank you very much

Looks like I am good to go....
