Just went to the Mecum auction in Dallas and the B5 six pack four speed Superbird gaveled at 215 plus 10% fees. It was a nice build. Looked like original rear panels, as best I could tell. No mention of matching numbers. I would hate to buy a car like that at an auction, though. You really can't inspect one properly. It did have the fender tag and sheet. Last time it sold was at Barret-Jackson.

I went over that one top to bottom, block was blank (no #'s). Imo, paint wasn't that great either.. Phone bidder was the winner. Hopefully he's happy with it.

My bud restored the purple AAR that sold at the same auction. It went for 84,700. The paint had not been taken care of since he sold it. The new owner, hmm, cough, cough, just cleaned them up and ran them across the block like they belonged to someone else. All I can say is he made a butload of money on that deal.
