Is this axle still good?

Would you trust the retaining collar on this axle or is it junk? The underside is in much better shape. I was going to use green bearing retaining compound as a bit of added insurance but thought I'd ask the experts first.

Ive seen worse but pictures are not the same as seeing it in person. I wpupd say as long as it presses on good amd tight, it  will be ok. If it were mine, i would upgrade to hardened axles

I wouldn't worry about the press fit as much as the sealing surface (if a seal is being used).
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

I was going to upgrade but just want to get it together for now as the stock axles should live fine on the street for a while.

I'll measure where the seal sits on the shaft and try to clean it up the best I can.

Thanks guys.

As long as the bearing fit was good I'd run it.
