I'm in the process of installing my cam and timing chain/gears and I was wondering do I need a cam slinger? I have a 3 bolt cam, and it looks like the slinger is not going to fit without some modification around where the bolt holes are in the end of the cam.

Thank you

I have never heard of a "cam slinger". I would prefer my cam to stay in position.
Maybe you meant an "Oil Slinger"?? That goes over the crank snout and rests against the crank gear and timing chain. Its purpose is to keep oil around the chain and crank gear.

Oops, I meant oil slinger. For some reason I thought it went behind the cam gear. Thank you!
