Looks like pretty good deal to me for an A body, although I'm not much for the black paint treatment.

The car is a mess of poor decisions.
The bumble bee treatment is a product of the 80s. Blacked out trim? That stuff went out of style with feathered hair, leisure suits and rabbit ears for TV sets.
The grille, hood and bumper are 1973-76 parts, not 1972.
Blacked out engine bay? Come on, people! The guy stuffed a 440 in there. This means that the engine bay was EMPTY for some time, you mean this idiot couldn't mix up a half pint of that hideous yellow to spray the engine bay the same color as the car ??

I like to see some individuality sometimes but it is almost a guarantee that there will be fewer people interested the further it gets from a factory stock specimen.
When people on forums post pictures about their modifications, I want to be supportive and positive as much as I can. Sometimes these people are those that I have chatted with before and simply out of respect, I acknowledge the talent and effort even if it is not something that I like.
This Scamp is not a lost cause, it is just way overpriced. IF the car had a properly painted engine bay, chrome bumpers and modern wheels, it could be a $10,000 car to the right guy. I think what drives the Dusters and Demons to higher sales price is "Street Cred". They could have been had with 340s or 360s. The Scamp peaked with a 318. I sold a 73 Dart Sport 340 with a stock 360, fresh paint and nice interior for $9000 4 months ago.

Question for US members.....how much would the Satty Sebring in this ad get in the US? The price it's up for in the above add equates to about $39,000......which is way over (like about double...) what I would pay for it.

Don't you just love it when the seller adjusts his asking price in the main header but forgets to adjust it in the description text.

So initially he thought "Yeah let me throw it out there for 35K" LMAO

Divide that by 2 then subtract $10,000.00 and it would be in the ball park.

"Flawless"...except for the granny front end.

If you're going to sink that much money into an undesirable car, maybe spend some of the money on a '70-72 front clip.  And why stick a tacky confederate flag sticker on a nice paint job?  It does seem like a nicely finished car, however.

Still, it's a '73 Duster.  This guy is more out of his mind than the guy trying to sell his '69 R/T clone for $70k in the "Delusional" thread.

Is a 1970 340 Duster in that condition with matching numbers even worth $39k?

BTW 4.11's suck. Your running 4k at 60 mph.

Chrysler had a 4.10 in the Dana and the 8 3/4". Aftermarket gear sets may have offered a 4.11.  Saying "Four-Eleven" sounds cool...maybe guys with 4.10 gears just say 4.11 ?
International Scouts may have had the 4.1 ratio.

The red Scamp looks nice. I can't get behind a non Mopar engine in a Mopar though.

I love the 2jz Scamp. It's honestly my favorite A body build.

Light weight, good fuel economy and dependability, silky smooth inline six and glorious exhaust sound, it's perfect.

The car was literally bound for the crusher before he rescued it. The local die hard Mopar guys would have been content to let it get crushed because it was a green, slant six A body.

Light weight cars don't win in a collision.  Had one, damn near cost me my life.

Never buy a red or yellow Mopar, its a sign of CHEAPNESS... :scratchchin:

Bigblock in a A-Body, great in straight lines, death-trap around corners, if someone steps out in front of you, get ready to go to jail for manslaughter... :eek2:

"Never buy a red or yellow Mopar, its a sign of CHEAPNESS... :scratchchin:

"  What a load of B.S. :brickwall:

Yellow is a sign of cheap taste, we know that!
I like yellow, Oh wait,  that explains some of my ex-girlfriends.

At it again, a 15k or 22.5k (depending on how you order it lol) '74 Duster .

Delusional enough that someone created their own Craigslist ad to express their feelings.  :smilielol: :smilielol:

I saw that at Moparts.
Me? I thought the response ad was funny. I loved it!
In their usual fashion over there, they pounced on anyone that liked the sarcastic ad. I was one that felt it was great.
People with NO sense of humor...I just don't understand that way of thinking. Like being gay, a Liberal, a feminist...It is so far removed from my way of life, I just can't identify with them. When I see stone faced people that never smile or laugh, I am both sad for them and annoyed with them at the same time. Maybe they cannot help being that way...I just don't know.
The car in question here does not look like a bad car but the seller sure is swinging for the fences with his asking price.

17.5K for a 1968 B Body 4 door that has rot!!!

Yeah if you're talking about the red '73 Duster, if it had a title/no rust $3000 sounds right. But no title and $8500.00?? No way!!
