I was just curious if anyone knew which Daytona this was, they could have done a bit better with the write-up as there are a few errors but good looking car.

The Dodge Charger Daytona was an amazing vehicle, but this example stands out even among the mere 503 Daytonas created to homologate the outrageous body design in the summer of 1969. Developed from engineering ideas that were not supposed to be used until much later, a scheduled meeting of the rules committee ACCUS that April instead pushed for an extreme development program to get the cars announced for a scheduled debut at NASCAR's new Talladega International Raceway that September. The car here was built on June 6, 1969, and has two broadcast sheets for documentation, plus a concours-grade rotisserie restoration has now made it better than new. This car originally came from Dodge as a standard U-code build, but under the hood now resides a date-code-correct 426 Hemi engine, the "King Kong" of the speedways and an engine very scarce in the original production of these cars. In a stock configuration, this stunning engine has the notable dual Carter 4-barrel carburetors, chrome-dome air cleaner and black valve covers. Behind it is the original 4-speed A833 manual transmission and a 3.54:1 Sure Grip Dana 60 differential as part of the A33 Track Pak. Handling is aided by both power steering and power brakes. In addition to the vaunted engine, the car features one of this model's most desirable paint combinations, white with a red rear wing and a matched-red, headrest, bucket-seat interior. That includes a floor-mounted Hurst shifter with wood-grain knob, dash cluster with 150 MPH speedometer and Tic-Toc-Tach, thumbwheel-design AM radio, heat and defrost, wood-grain 3-spoke steering wheel and chrome-trim pedal dress-up. The color here is exceptional, creating a truly blended appearance. The final "red" accessory would be the redline radial tires, mounted on styled road wheels, completing this car's overall attractiveness. Upgraded to Hemi power and driven 37,950 believed-original miles, this beautiful example of Dodge's aero superstar is certain to draw a huge amount of attention in any collection or setting.

That car is pretty much king of the heap.

Love the wheels and tires... I love my NASCAR rims on my Daytona, but this combination rocks too.... Maybe it is the chrome against the white, and the red lines with the red interior.... Oh, the "HEMI" badge surely doesn't take anything away from the looks either...  :icon_smile_big:

Canadian Daytona Jim?

Hi Dave - If it is the car I think it is - no....I bought it out of the U.P. in Michigan off a gentleman named Fred McNally. I also bought the F8 Hemi 500 4-speed off of him at the same time. That car was on here a few years back..... someone gave an extensive resto to it.
If it is the same Daytona....it is a white 440, 4-speed with black interior. I sold the pair to a fellow in Quebec.....he e-bay'd the 500 and restored the Daytona...putting a Hemi in it and changing the interior to red. I sold him the Hemi as well....It was an engine I was going to use in the 500.

Does look a lot like Michel Perreault's old car, restored by Michel Poulin, from R/T Restoration. He sold it at Russo&Steele in Scottsdale in 2012, and it went to Alberta, Canada, I think... I think it was sold another time after that. There can't be too many White on red 4-speed Daytonas with a Hemi added...

Agreed, I marked it as Michel's car several posts earlier, the giveaway being the Dave Patick front spoiler, IIRC Michel sold it to Arnoldussen, or it eventually ended up with him

I recall having a few conversations with Michel  (I had sold him some reproduction parts for the car) about the HEMI transplant he was doing at the time, quite the character to talk to... IIRC he did put aside the vehicles original engine

OK.. so I'll ask the question,,,how much does the hemi add to the value of the car, even if it was not born with it. IDK how much they would get if it was just a restored U code with matching engine.

Also where can I get those fat redline tires?

I wonder if the original engine was lost long ago. If it still had the 440 recently one would think it would be kept with the car which would add a lot of value to the #'s matching purists.
Not that there's anything wrong with the current engine. :2thumbs:

IMHO the HEMI added value as the car sold at Mecum 2017 for $225K (IMHO a 440 car would have only brought $150-$180K to top bid) when Arnoldussen last owned it, so it's back for this January's Mecum...I wish someone would replace that D.Patik front spoiler though, that might help it bring a few more $$  :smilielol:
