Did the front drums get a brass washer between wheel cylinder and brake hose? Don't see one on it I think it should have one would it hurt if it did?

It should have one. The washer is copper. This washer creates the seal between the hose and the wheel cylinder.   :2thumbs:

That's what I thought took the old hoses off and only front driver side had a washer the other two hoses had nothin came off a running and driving car strange they never leaked

They don't leak because the end of the hose is a flared end that seats on the cylinders flare seat, the washer I believe is more like a lock washer that crushes enough to let the flare faces make contact.

all of my 4 drum cars have a copper crush washer on the front wheel cylinders

Mine had / have them on the front, but not one on the rear Y splitter. Mind you that hose could have been changed out over the past 5 decades and they didn't bother with the crush washer.

mine did have the copper washers on my front 10 inch slant 6 drums when i changed out my old hoses for new ones the other day, however there were seemingly attached and had to be bumped with a screw driver to remove em. Any parts supplier should have them. (they should come with the new hoses in my opinion).

the new copper crush washers come with new or rebuilt wheel cylinders, not the new hoses.....it's always been that way....

thats good to know, I have new wheel cylinders for my 65 Ford mustang that i have had for 25 years, so there is a possibility those are the same and there is a slight possibility that those are still in the box :) thanks for the info
