And the first Plymouth model to return:  Sundance :slap:

Not my own personal choice of nameplate, but it's a start.  Hopefully, it works out for them, with more favorable nameplates to make a return in the future.  I can see why they'd bring it back in this fashion.  Don't want to ruin a cool nameplate on a crumby 4 dr.

Did you happen to notice the release date on that news release? Just saying.

That's also why I said hopefully.  Rumors start easily.

However, it's a plausible way for the return of Plymouth.  What better way than a cheap econobox to distinguish itself from Chrysler and Dodge

I don't understand this, a one car brand??

I'd rather see a Plymouth Helldance in order to make a statement.

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

I'm thinkin' the "Fiat Chrysler Authority's" choice to use a photo of a worn out 20 year old car with chipped paint as the poster child of their relaunch effort may show how Genuine this article is  :hah:

Oh, man, I even read the article and was looking forward to its release at the Boston South Auto Show.  (B.S. auto show) and about the reinforced composite materials they were going to use for the suspension.  I guess I'll just be bummed out all day today.

I cannot imagine 'Plymouth' testing well in market research these days.  Not only the tainted memories of the old brand but even just the raw word.

There wouldn't have been models called 'Aztek' or 'Vue' 50 years ago.  They wouldn't make a 'Coronet' or 'Belvedere' model today.   Same principle.

We only got a 'Charger' in 2006 because Daimler pulled the name out of the Mopar word bin and it tested well.  You can bet the 2008 Challenger would have been a 'Dodge Barracuda' if the latter name had tested better.

Chrysler is a 2-car brand & soon they'll be a zero car brand. Dodge isn't too far behind with only 5 models to choose from.
