Before my Daytona clone migrated to Northern Alberta with its 3rd + after conversion new owner its history began in Eagle Rock, a East LA suburb of So Cal.

It's new life began after I bought in Eagle Rock..approx 1988. The factory B5 R/T was street raced and pretty hammered..and for $500. I bought it in running condition. The two fender tag indicated a optioned out B5 blue, white bucket seat, console, AC, ps, pdb , sunroof etc.The sunroof was siliconed shut. For $12. I got a new sunroof seal from American Sunroof in LA ( The orig manufacturer) and got it working. Memory fails as to if the orig engine was still in it.
The former white interior was spray painted black, the AC missing..the 8 track and 3 speaker dash still there.

I also picked up a non running 70 SE with a mint black interior and woodgrain dash.console etc..for $300 from another LA suburb. (Those were the days). This car provided the interior for the 69 along with the fenders and hood. Oddly enough the 70 had a dana 60 in it... a factory 383 car.

Work began in earnest...in a basic one car garage with a 110 Mig. In So Cal weather doesnt stop you unless its too hot.

Building the rear plug and shortening the decklid was pretty basic -

DonC1

The wing I hand built too with basic tools..ie tin snips. Bondo is your friend.

The nosecone I made..rather amatuer'ish....who knows if this piece is still on the car in its red hue. I bought Janeks headlight parts. More Bondo...but not ' thick '.

By keeping the stock rear window and just raising it made it simple..and kept the trim.

DonC1

And uncovered some bondo ruins in the 70 fender.. filled the stock side markerlight in , made the valence and cut the new side marker in later.

Filled in the AC firewall-..if this car ever comes up for sale again...the firewall is one place to verify this car's history.
