Can someone tell me if the threaded inserts to mount the hinge is supposed to slide or not?.....thx guys

Yes, the insert can move around.  Allows you to align your hood.

I've never seen any that slide.
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

My Charger is a hybrid car, it burns gas and rubber............

If I remember right the hood hinges are slotted to allow for adjustments. LEON.

The threaded inserts DO NOT slide. They are spot welded in place.

I think folks are confused between the fixing bolts that do slide to allow alignment (like on the yellow hinge above) and the spot welded in nuts that the bolts thread into...that don't.....Or maybe its just me misunderstanding!!
