I watched an episode of  Whats My Car Worth, and I seem to remember that car selling for $140,000  right after it was restored. It looks like the value has gone up quite a bit. Cool car.

I thought all the BS hype/marketing for its first Barrett-Jackson auction at Scottsdale January 2015 hurt interest & kept buyers away
..... & it "SOLD" cheap @ $154,000 (140,000 + 14,000) :Twocents:

now 3+ years later it sells at Mecum for $203,500 (185,000 + 18,500) :shruggy: I guess that's the ballpark for a numbers 440HP auto Daytona

Q5XX29

Very cool car. I agree, price seems too low.

as awesome as the restored Big Willie Daytona is  , & it would look just as awesome restored back to stock  :yesnod:  , think it should  of been left unrestored , may be with minor minimal  paint touch up at last resort to stop any further rot / rust ...& or  mechanical  stuff to make it usable  :yesnod: :Twocents:

It was far from a Pile when I bought it from Big Willie,  every flaw told a story and the car is pretty much a ruined restored Daytona with race paint and wheels,  now,... And as far as enjoying it I promise I had more fun in it than anyone that has owned it since it got restored , the perfect strangers,  I let just take it out for a spin enjoyed it and was a memory they will never forget,  and the people that saw it and crowded around it at every show I took it to enjoyed it,  so your dumb ass statement about hard to enjoy a pile is about the stupidest thing anyone could ever say without knowing the facts,  and I enjoyed helping my family with the $250,000 I sold it for before it was restored/ruined.......Drops Mic

SO, Buyers pays $250,000 for it. Then probably at least another $100,000 into restoring it & has $350,000 into it. Then sells at Barrett Jackson with no Reserve for $140,000. :shruggy: :scratchchin: not the first time I seen that happen. He would of been better off leaving it alone & original.  :shruggy:

This was not vandalism.   The Willie car was cool to see, but pretty long in the tooth.

1969daytona

I havnet said that it is Vandalism. I said he had it disturbed and before that i said that its only original once.
(And with disturbed I mean Redone/restored and then its not original.)

It could been given a "touch up" And still be there for us to see in the future. Every car do not need to be 100% perfect.

But again thats my opinion. I will respect yours ;)

Sorry for my bad english writhing.

I agree in principle.   But I can tell that you never saw the car in person.    You can't "touch up" holes in a rear window plug.    There was nothing to "touch up" on this car.   It was all or nothing.

I guess you could say that the car was a survivor.    It survived Big Willie.
