My alt guage is functioning weird all of a sudden.....it had quite a bit of movement with throttle response .....now after i start the car it functions normal for about 10 secs then falls to about +10 and stays there regardless of throttle.....i put the volt meter on the battery terminals at idle and its reading 14.5 volts......any ideas whats happening here?

Voltage Regulator?

That is my first guess.... I would check the voltage going in and out of the regulator....

Do NOT trust that gauge! If everything else seems good, it's the gauge! Mine gave me sporadic issues for 9 years, consider this voltmeter mod
