Well since you do not want to sell them and you have no plans to use them can I borrow a few of them ? 

Looks like a real cool find and now you will have to share the story how you happened to luck out and come across such a stash from someone that WOULD sell them

While sorting through the Aero Car Artifacts, I'm seeing what looks like R6 paint on several of the parts.

I Don't think it's V2,it looks more "reddish" to me.

So, I'm thinking somewhere there is a R6 Daytona either missing some of it's parts, or it has gone to the great beyond...


Trunklid hinge bracket with R6? paint on it:

Wing brace, complete with "R" stamped into it, assuming that means "right" or passenger side.

That's gonna take some time. 

The wing braces are buried in the back of the garage, behind this past year's other acquisitions. 

I brought a lot of other things home today that are not pictured in this thread, and I still have another load or two to haul home one day this week after work.   

Then, I can attempt to organize it all.

Remind me in a few weeks via PM, and I'll see what I can do.

Several of these Daytona parts are the same reddish-orange color.

Looks like they might have all been removed from one car at some point.

According to a drawing I have by Chrysler aero guy Gary Romberg, it controlled air shocks to change the vehicle attitude in the Lockheed wind tunnel.

Looks like a fuel valve out of an old piper cub... or for an oil tank and someone ran down to the local hardware store when the need arised!

Bingo!   Old fuel valve. 
They still make them today with little differences.

Today, I was going through the stacks/boxes/piles of parts I brought home last Monday, and I found this.


It looks like the real deal to me.

Agreed......one detail missing on the repros is the slightly raised edge along the bottom radius visible on both sides, this was probably from tooling to form or cut the lower edge

I took another look at it, that ridge is definitely there.

I went through the last of the piles today. ( I think )  

I came up with these relics.

They look like they were lost at the bottom of the Dead Sea:
