Well. I had marked the 3 days for vacation but am 0 for 5 entries, neither the Daytona or the Alaska bird or the Hemi psychedelic or the other 2.  Interesting results, but would have been difficult to get drivers for all of them. Have now marked back "on" for work that week. Send pictures Mom.

Huh? Something seems fishy?... :shruggy:

It has to be an honest mistake.. I can't imagine Tim not including at least one of Bob's cars...

You should resubmit your entry or call the museum directly.

Is it full? No more entries Accepted?

They have not closed off registration.       If you have not submitted an entry, do so.     If you submitted an entry a long time ago and have not heard anything,  resubmit it.

EDIT:  Spoke to TW late this afternoon.    They ARE about to close off registration.    They have 175 cars entered.   So if you have not received confirmation that you entered,  you should follow up now.

Just read this link after a month and re-submitted cars, holding my breath

Alaskan_TA

If you have not called them on the phone yet, you should.

Aero426

One thing you will need to figure out ahead of time is exactly how many people are coming with your party.    They won't be set up to do walk-up sales the day of the event that include food and beverage.

Curious...have you heard anything taxspeaker?

I was able to get in.  I while back I booked a hotel near Atlanta Weds. night so I'm right there Thurs. morning.   Then when were done at the track it sounds like we load up and caravan back to Alexander City?  Sorry, newbie at this one.  Being that I'm a shop teacher I don't get any vacation time so this is going to be out of sick and personal days. The friend that is going to haul my car wants to know if there is anything to do or places to see either on the way there the monday or tuesday before the event, or, on our way home.  We'll be leaving after the race and on the road all day ( Monday the 14th)  Any thoughts?  Just trying to decide if it is worth me taking another day off.

Last thing,  I see that it is $220 for a car and two people, but is that wine tasting thing included in that $220 or and additional (optional as it says) $20.  I don't drink so I'm just wondering if I will pay $200 or $220

birdsandbees

Tickets are $220 for two.. wine tasting is $20 each as an optional expense.

Thanks,  sorry about forgetting something in my post.  I asked if there were things to do on the way there or home, but never said where home was.  Buffalo   So we'll be traveling home after the race most likely.  Is there anything going on or any place of interest as we head north towards buffalo.  We'll be on the road all day Monday.  Any "Columbus Day" cruises or points of interest?

I'm coming all the way from Ontario.. 2 hours North of Toronto.. so have similar interests for things to do and keep the wife occupied there and back. She's now 2 years into severe concussion recovery and still can't travel too many miles in a day, so gonna be a LONG trip there and back if things don't improve in the next 6 months.

The Tennessee distilleries  (ex: Jack Daniels) are worthy of a stop that won't cost too much time.
If you plan to cross the border over on the Detroit side, there are any number of attractions within 30 minutes.     You could spend a full day at Greenfield Village or the Henry Ford Museum.

I apologize if this has already been discussed and I missed it. Are there planned activities for Thursday in Alexander City after the trip from Atlanta?

70Sbird

Hi everyone, Just a question. Who has already completed their registration and purchased their tickets?
I understand it's $220 for the event (I'm not into wine tasting so I'll skip that), but do you need to purchase the tickets to the track event on Sunday at the same time?  It is an additional $65 for the vehicle and two people. I have my confirmation email to go online and purchase my event tickets, but I've been procrastinating on buying the tickets since I'm still not sure about my plans for Sunday at Talladega and didn't know if I needed to commit to the track tickets at the same time?
Will there be any way to purchase the track pass for the car and 2 passengers at a later date is what I'm ultimately asking...
Thanks
Scott

I'm in-Steve found my lost entries and all cars are in. Just need trailers, drivers and hotel rooms. Traveling for 3 weeks but will work on that at months end.

The room situation could be messy. I would not wait.......

Some quick findings today in limited internet time
All Alexander City hotels full
Checked with a number of VRBO sites and their ability to handle truck pulling a trailer is limited (means a no-go)
Looking at Hampton Inn Wetumka or Wind River casino-lots of parking and rooms-anyone going there? We will have 4 rooms, 4 trucks and trailers and would like to stay where somebody else is too. Otherwise Auburn, AL or back up near Birmingham

Trailers can stay in the rig lot for the weekend.   Most of the hotels don't have room for them either.
